Absolutely love this model! Got it in just 8 days with FedEx, and the darbuka arrived in perfect condition. I've purchased from this website before, grabbing the Gawharet El Fan sombaty darbuka and the Emin black sombaty darbuka. What stands out about this model is how it combines the best of both worlds.
With its 8 pegs, it delivers sharp and accurate strokes, especially the "Tac" and the "slap" like the Emin darbuka. The wide structure at the bottom also gives you that Egyptian "Doom" sound, which I really appreciate. This combination provides a variety of sounds in one stunning darbuka.
Now, in terms of looks, the marble shiny appearance is a personal favorite, although, for me, the sound is the most crucial factor. If this design isn't your thing, there are other Egyptian models available with 8 pegs – trust me, it's worth it.
What I love even more about this purchase is the free head cover to protect the head. The default case that came with it is much more padded compared to the one I got with the Gawharet El Fan darbuka. Even the tuning key comes with a pocket featuring the Arab Instruments logo. They really pay attention to the small details that make your purchase worthwhile!
In my opinion, though the price is a bit steep, this will undoubtedly be my favorite drum. Keep up the excellent work, Arab Instruments!
