Holes do not line up

This place is a scam this drum that I bought the holes do not line up they used every excuses in the book I wrote them time and time again they will not help me they are scam artists this drum head is of itâ€:tm:s a defect from them and they are talking to me as if Iâ€:tm:ve never Owned a drum before if your gonna buy anything be aware that you cannot get any help they do not wanna even say sorry they just wanna continue to charge you for anything they will never admit that itâ€:tm:s the drum itself I have never seen poor quality service like this in my life I would never recommend paying for anything from them unless you just want a piece as a decorative piece only thanks for stealing my money and leaving me with a useless drum very dissapointing

Good Darbuka...Needs Some Finish

The inlay on this Darbuka is fantastic. Looks are amazing and very pretty.  Once tuned, the "doum" is deep, the "ka" is great, and "tek" is crisp.  There is no better darbuka for the money.

There is one minor issue that must be addressed at the factory... the shambar (rim) is raw unfinished aluminum with a sharp outer edge.  I found the skin was cut by the rim edge when the drum arrived: a bad first impression.

Nonetheless, it was "fixed" with some 320 grit sandpaper to remove the hard chamfer from the outer surface of the rim, then a polish with 600 grit sandpaper to make it smooth and allow for the skin to slide over the edge under various tensions without scratching or cutting the skin synthetic.

To their credit, Arab Instruments was very attentive to me, and they very generously sent a replacement skin to replace the replacement skin that I had to install.  I really enjoy the energy of the Arab Instruments team, and appreciate their communication.

I would give quality 5-stars when Gawharet El Fan polishes the outer rim edge at the factory.  :)
