Hello . i hade purchase two of those oud cases .Im recomend those profesional cases to everyone who care about his oud.Very strong protection and yet', light weight and keep the oud safe
I really wanted a Reunion Blues or Mono stye case...but good luck finding anything like that for an Oud or other non-western instruments. I really wanted a modern gig bag that padded well. I took a chance on this bag and am actually quite impressed. There is a HUGE amount of padding. It's thicker and denser than it looks. It's like sticking the Oud into a giant marshmallow. Is it as crush proof as a Reunion Blues Bag? Probably not... but can I drop this, have it bounce around in a vehicle with other gear, and take a hit in commute... absolutely. In fact I love that the headstock is so well protected. Decent storage space...but items go right over the soundboard. So be mindful what you stuff in there. Packs of strings and some sheet music fit perfect. The upper pocket is tight with extreme padding, so anything other than plectrums for instance won't fit well. It also opens downwards...so be mindful. Two grab handles in perfect spots. Good design. Zippers are higher quality and seem durable. Back straps are comfortable. Overall, this has to be the best gig bag for an Oud. There are not a lot of good options out there that can ACTUALLY take a hit. You can see the attached photo (with a mono guitar case in the background)... the case can actually free-stand vertically with the Oud inside. Super handy. I spent a long time searching for ANYTHING remotely comparable to a Mono or Reunion Blues bag... and while its not completely in that league, I feel super confident with this case and it has already proven itself in travel. And with a humidipak thrown in the case, I've had rock solid tuning stability as well in travel. All signs of a solid, well made case. For reference, my Oud is 27.5" long from the NUT to the end of the body.
