Regular practice is the best thing that you can try to hone your skills. Proper placement of Oud is vital. Try to put the point of an Oud to the audience and not to the air while playing Oud. Unlike guitar that can be played while standing, most of the Oud players prefer to play Oud while sitting on chairs. So just, place the body of an Oud on your lap and start your musical journey with a different note and style.
